Sales and coupons
A scheduled sale that appears and disappears on its own, plus coupons by percent or amount with scope, a window and a cap. And how the two combine.
Two ways to discount: a sale that lowers the price for everyone for a period, and a coupon that discounts only for people who type a code.
Sale (a scheduled sale price)
When editing a product, under Sale, set a sale price and optionally a start and end time. The sale appears and disappears automatically on the card, on the product page and in the shop, with the regular price struck through next to it. The sale price has to be lower than the regular price and greater than zero.
Good uses: a launch at an intro price, a holiday sale with an end date, a push for a product that stalled.
Coupons
Under Coupons on the My Offers screen, create a code (for example VIP20) with:
- Discount type: a percentage or a fixed amount (in one currency).
- Scope: all products or selected products.
- Time window: start and end, optional.
- Redemption cap: how many times the code can be used, optional.
Buyers type the code on the product page and see the discount before paying. Coupons shine for campaigns, collaborations and returning customers: give each channel its own code and see what worked.
How a sale and a coupon combine
A coupon is calculated on the actual price: if a sale is active, the discount comes off the sale price. The final price always stays at least 1.
